Club child protection/safeguarding course

By | 3rd November 2016

We are making progress towards our Swim 21 accreditation but are under some pressure, particularly from the management at Leytonstone Leisure Centre, to have this in place. Failure to achieve this will seriously jeopardise our being able to continue to use the pool at Leytonstone. In the future, Clubs without Swim 21 accreditation will probably not be able to operate at any publicly owned pool, so this is something we really need.

One of the main things we need to achieve Swim 21 accreditation is for all adults that are either coaching, on the committee, volunteering or helping at training sessions and/or gala’s to undergo a DBS check and attend a child protection I safeguarding course.

Accordingly, we are putting on a course, just for our Club on 27th November 2016, 3pm to 5pm at Sylvestrian Leisure Centre, Forest School. The course is run by an outside trainer and we have paid for 20 places. We would really appreciate as many people as possible attending so that we get as much value as possible from this. In addition to existing coaches and helpers, any parents who may be thinking of helping out at the Club in the future, are encouraged to attend. In fact, we would welcome attendance from any parent, even if you don’t think you would be involved in the future, as it will help to ensure we can continue swimming.

Please let Andy White know if you can fill a place at f@tfish.com.  The course is for over 18‘s only
